A Watched Pot Never Boils

I've found this stage of the waiting is not very pleasant. You know when you are not expecting any news at all it just seems easier. No/low expectations = no discouragement.

When you think you could get amazing life-changing news at any moment it just gets, well, hard. Really hard. Fridays are the worst because you know it is your last chance for news for this week. Another day checked off on the calendar.

I read today that discouragement is just ungodly thinking in disguise. Ouch! Consider me convicted.

I feel like I'm standing over the stove waiting for a kettle of water to boil. Lord, help me to wait expectantly!

In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation
Psalm 5:3

Yes, Friday's are hard! They seem to drag on, and the end result is always the same....no answer! I will pray that today, you get an answer~

Double "ouch" for me! I feel the same way.
I know my little girl is going to come home some day - I just want to stomp my feet some days and have a fit and cry Now! Now! Now!
I feel so guilty when I have those thoughts that I have to apologize to God for just thinking that.
I know as little about Ghana as I did Haitiwhen we decided to adopt. I look forward to learning more about that beautiful country.

I know what you mean! When we were adopting Julia (from Russia), the closer it got to the end, the harder it got. Maybe being so close, yet there is still so much that is unknown! Try to enjoy Friday and weekends. It's almost like there is no pressure of thinking something will happen and you can relax some. Before you know it, Mercy will be home and these months will be a blurr. I promise!

Blessings,
Karen

OH."ungodly thinking in disguise" I like that even though it STINGS!!!
I know so well that waiting thing, and we are doing it again....for three more, in two different situations, maybe (?) but waiting nonetheless. Habakkuk reminds me
" Though it tarries WAIT FOR IT, It will SURELY COME"..maybe that can be a sort of spiritual mantra for you too?

Your fb snippet worries me. Things always take longer than they say. I hope it is nothing else. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I too remember the Fridays! I would often take the kids out for the day or get them really good and tired on Sunday nights so that we'd all sleep well till Monday morning's reasonable time to get phone calls. Hang in there. I'm praying for you!
