Some time ago I asked our local American Legion if we could have a spaghetti supper there to raise funds for our adoption. We were quickly denied even though we did not request the checks to be made payable to us, but (at that time) to Three Angels which is a non-profit organization. Apparently if you need to raise money for baseball uniforms that is OK, but for an adoption - no way!
Almost two weeks ago I asked our local Eagle's Club if we could have a breakfast there as a fundraiser. I could sense he wasn't sure if they would say yes, but he asked me to put something in writing and get it to him.
I looked on the club's website and found they desire to "uphold and nourish the values of home, family and community that are so necessary and it seems so often get ignored and trampled in today's society." In the letter I let them know that the adoption of a child fits perfectly with their goal of upholding the values of home & family. I also told them the proceeds would not go to us, but to our agency which is also a non-profit.
They are supposed to be voting tonight as to whether or not they will allow us to participate in this program that they already have up & running. Please pray their hearts would be moved to allow this. I've been told that on average they raise about $1,500 at the breakfasts. This would be a huge help to us right now. Thanks for your prayers.
