She's Officially My Daughter...She Barfed on Me!

Well now I've been officially puked on by ALL my kids. She was crying in the pool & next thing I know she was barfing down my swimsuit. Good stuff!

This morning she wasn't my biggest fan. In fact, I think it's fair to say I was her least favorite person in the whole world. Peterson, however, LOVED me today (hooray for progress). When we left the O to go back to the guest house she was tense, but slowly started to loosen up. She even went in the Caribbean Market with me. Then right before lunch you could just see her relax and she was obviously much more comfortable with me. She's making more eye contact & let me feed her lunch (which obviously did not agree with her - tuna salad).

I had a great time with the kids in the nursery this morning. Rebecca is a complete & total completely adorable drama queen. Kervens is a smooth dude - I can tell he is going to be very popular with the ladies. Justin is a little monkey with the best smile. Peterson was being a sweetie, but decided to take a whack at me and quickly got put in time out by Jutane (poor buddy). Sara was a giggly girl. Caleb is just mellow. Layla was a silly girl hanging around my legs at every moment.

I also spent time with the kids downstairs. Elmise, Nata & Fritzson were cracking me up. It is so great to get to know these kids - they are GREAT!

Well, I'm off to watch my baby girl sleep.

Rebecca IS such a drama queen... I have no idea where she gets it from:) And Kervens is the COOLEST dude. Back off ladies! Thanks for your observations on the kids! It's so neat to hear someone else's take on my kids!

Sorry to hear that Anchise barfed in the pool. Can you imagine how the food and snacks we give them coupled with the different foods they are eating at the Guest House must mess with their systems!!!

Glad you are making strides in bonding with Anchise! It's hard not to take some of their behavior personally because we have all of these emotions wrapped up in them, but I guarantee she knows exactly who you are... her mama!

Yay, you are broken in as her mama!!! I think it is probably normal that she was not pleased with you in the morning..she is probably hesitant to trust you just yet, but it seems like she is quickly falling in love with her mama! I am just so excited to pray for your time with her..still waiting for photos! =)

Update: As the day went on things got better & better. In the morning she couldn't get away from me fast enough. She wanted her nanny so bad. However, when I took her back at supper time we walked in & she didn't even try to go to her nanny who was standing right there. Hooray for major progress!!!!!

Who is Anchise's nanny? Is it Merlande?

I'm so grateful that you are posting so much from Haiti (no small feat!) It almost feels as if I'm there with you:) OK, not really, but it is great to get the blow-by-blow on what is going on down there!

Still praying!

Oh yes barf is a right of passage in parenthood. We used to call our Zion "Zion the baptist." Enjoy watching your precious girl sleep.

Sorry about the barfing but hooray on the bonding progress!!! That is so awesome! Would you please give Samara & Shakira a hug & kiss from their mama? I would say Caleb too but it sounds like you have spent some time with him already. Thanky! :o)

Sorry, I just couldn't help but leaving another comment, because Yay! I found a photo of you and Anchise on the Angel House blog!! You look so at peace to be with your sweetheart...So glad that she is getting more used to you each moment...I pray she will know in her heart that you'll be back as she says goodbye. Not until you give her TONS more hugs and kisses though!
