I am overwhelmed and incredibly thankful to everyone who has left comments, e-mailed us, and called. Your concern, love and prayers for us and our sweet girl lessens the sadness even if just for a moment. Thank you.

I am feeling an incredible loss and deep grief over the events of the past few days. Good and bad times come in waves. I will be fine one moment and then suddenly, without warning, a wave of great sadness will wash over me. How could this be? What good could possibly come from this?

The truth is we may never know what good may come from this, but We TRUST that somehow, someway these events will ultimately be used for the glory of God.

Please continue to pray for Anchise's protection. We pray and trust that God will provide for her every physical and emotional need. Please pray that our hearts will begin to heal and that each wave will be somewhat less sad than the wave before. Pray that if it is His will, that Anchise will be returned to our family. Our hope is in the Lord.

I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, he who watches over
Israel never slumbers or sleeps.
The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.
The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you
as you come and go, both now and forever.
Psalm 121

that scripture is so appropriate. I just wish I could say something to help or ease this pain. I truly can't imagine. Thank you for your sweet spirit of faithfulness and honesty.

This is one of the 2 passages we used in our service for Nandinie yesterday. You and I, we will both continue to lean on Him, even though the questions far outnumber the answers and the pain seems crushing.

I'm so sorry. I go thru the waves too- and they just come crashing in. How do we go on from here? What are we supposed to be learning?

I am praying for you and begging God for you and for Anchise. If you want to talk, don't hesitate to email me- lmcbride123 @ msn .com (no spaces)

In Him, Laura

...the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value. We love you all and will keep you in our prayers.

My heart is heavy for you and your family. You will be in my prayers. Psalm 121 is very special to our family. This psalm was read at our wedding and we have turned to it for comfort many times in our life. May you find comfort in those words and remember who is always watching over you and Anchise.

Dear sweet beautiful Stephanie,

You family is in my daily prayers. You are a gift to the body of Christ! I want to share something from my bible study this week:

"God has not missed a single stitch or left a stone unturned on your behalf; furthermore, His activity in the details of your life most often displays His glory and beauty."

Right now Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for you, for Anchise, for your family.

"But the Lord's plans will stand forever; His ideas will last from now on."
Psalm 33:18

""The Lord hears good people when they cry out to him, and he saves them from ALL their troubles." The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and he saves those whose spirits have been crushed."
Psalm 34:17&18

Lord Jesus turn their sorrow into dancing. Take away their clothes of sadness, and clothe them in happiness.
Psalm 30:11

Praying for you and sweet Anchise. God alone knows why some things happen--sometimes we get a glimpse of why later on and sometimes we don't. In the hours after my father died suddenly, a snippet of a verse from 2 Tim. came to mind, "I know whom I have believed," and God reminded me to bring to mind what I knew about Him, His kindness and love and presence with me. Hang on to Him even in your pain, and know when you feel you can't hang on, He is hanging onto you. Praying for you all.

Beautiful photos.

In time it does get better. I still cry sometimes when I think of the girls, but not nearly as much as I used to.

The only way I could explain it to people was it was like a death. In some ways worse though as you don't know the future of these children. I wonder all of the time if my Haitian girls are okay.

Sending you cyber hugs today.
And praying for your broken heart.
