One of the hardest things about being a mom to a girl is training her consistently on issues like modesty and saving yourself (not just physically but spiritually, emotionally, mentally, too) when we are surrounded with "stuff" on display. I hear ya! I hear ya!

Do you follow Secret Keeper ministries with Dannah Gresh? I think you would really, really like her. She's on Facebook, has a blog, etc. I always come away with good things to think about. I just wish their retreats were more affordable for our budget . . .The Gang's Momma!https://www.blogger.com/profile/12478478224173323982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643283867873567400.post-4540584651384956102010-07-18T18:24:17.017-05:002010-07-18T18:24:17.017-05:00For sure. I am completely devoted to my skirted swimsuits (very cute - no need to compromise style at all), which I am loving (even more than my "boy short" styles)...and yes, children's & teens swimwear for girls is bothering me a lot this summer. I was actually just at a water park in the company of some teen boys, and one of them even wondered aloud what happened to the days of young girls covering up a bit more (something to that effect)...and then his "joke" about how it confuses "us guys" was perhaps quite telling...cover the girls up, folks!Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07387762027113894185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643283867873567400.post-54882377339733063952010-07-18T07:48:04.346-05:002010-07-18T07:48:04.346-05:00You are so right on all three points. But there were some Muslim women at my mom's apartment pool and they just wore big t-shirts over their suits, and I thought "Why not?" At least that felt OK when they were there; when they aren't I feel odd and conspicuous. Jen is right! I inadvertantly bought a suit for Nastya that has padding! I didn't realize it until one of the pads came out when I washed it; at least they are removable....Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12623179886908222942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643283867873567400.post-28539579956794043422010-07-17T18:15:16.877-05:002010-07-17T18:15:16.877-05:00On that note, just came home from a birthday party...On that note, just came home from a birthday party for a seven year old. One girl was wearing a black bikini and the top was PADDED! Like it was a wonderbra or something. It was very, very disturbing that a seven year old had padding.Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13005810600633310103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643283867873567400.post-46962572369280391802010-07-17T16:37:12.255-05:002010-07-17T16:37:12.255-05:00We see a lot of people at the beach who need a lot...We see a lot of people at the beach who need a lot more clothing!Kathy Casselhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02886511489428522492noreply@blogger.com
